Final Assessment - Pre-Etching

Finally, this is our last assessment for this subject in this semester which is Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Fabrication. Before we can proceed to the PCB Fabrication process, there are a few steps that need to be done: 

• draw a schematic diagram
• PCB layout
• circuit artwork

As for this assessment, we just use a simple project to complete this PCB Fabrication assessment which is Simple Audio Circuit. For the schematic diagram and the PCB layout, it has already given in the project magazine. Then, we just print out the PCB at a transparent paper for the circuit artwork. Finally we can proceed the PCB Fabrication. This is very new for us, thus the technician guided us on this assessment.

These are the steps that have been taught by the technician:

• Cut the UV PCB board to a desired size if necessary. 
• Tear off the black protection film on the board.
•  Attach the circuit artwork on the UV PCB board.
•  Expose the board in the exposure box for 60 seconds.
•  Immerse the box after exposure completely into developer liquid container.
•  Agitate the board until the circuit can be seen clearly.
•  Rinse the board with running water.
•  Immerse the board completely into ETCHING liquid container.
•  Agitate the board until the unwanted copper foil is removed.
•  Rinse the board with running water.
